In 1997, Game Development Company Limited (GDC) was formed. GDC was duly registered as a company and with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre. At present GDC has over 900 ostriches. GDC started slaughtering its animals on a trial basis in September, 1999. At present GDC processes about 50 animals a month.
